The embroidery on the bibbard shows his dad's heraldry and his mom's heraldry quartered, with a label on the top as their "heir."
The bib is actually a Quilted Bib by Charles Craft, which comes with an Aida-cloth pocket to embroider. It reminded me of the bib that Joseph is wearing in the St. Anne Altarpiece by Quentin Massys (c. 1507).
